TOKYO: Amid noise from protesters, Tokyo used virtual reality to impress International Olympic Committee inspectors checking its bid to host the most compact Summer Games in 2016. The 13 members of an IOC commission, tasked to evaluate 2016 bids by Chicago, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro and Madrid, toured 25 of the 34 venues planned for the Games on the second day of a four-day official programme.

A packed Bird's Nest stadium celebrated the end of the Games, widely hailed as a huge success. Fireworks lit up the night sky as the closing ceremony got under way for the 13th Paralympics. The theme of the ceremony was the future and the ideal is that the world's Paralympians return to their countries and pass on the feeling of hope.The 'snowing' red maple leaves symbolising respect for the athletes drifted from the stadium roof in the show. With the ceremony themed 'Future', the idea was to let known the World's Paralympians return to their countries and pass on the feeling of hope.

Almot to the close end of Beijing Paralympics 2008, 37 medals were given out today. Out of which, 26 medals were distributed in the Athletics events. Remarkable results were seen at the evening session of Athletics today. 17 champions were seen and 9 world records were broken.

With the remaining 8 medals given out today, Beijing Paralympics 2008 came to an end at the closing ceremony. The medal rankings remained the same and China topped the chart with a total of 211 medals taken from the Beijing Paralympics.

At the Beijing Paralympics 2008 today, 51 medals were awarded. The top 5 countries, China, Great Britiain, United States, Ukraine and Australia, kept their cool and competed in the various event to keep their ranking positions the same. The event host, China, as usual, competitively participated and took down 39 medals with pride.
